Hi everyone!

I just wanted to give an official very heartfelt THANKYOU here on DA for the amazing response we have received for the Legend of Korra trailer that was unveiled at this years San Diego comic con! Avatar fans are the absolute best!

The one thing we've noticed is that the "Official trailer" is running 20% faster than normal..... So here is a link to the trailer at normal speed.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=r04B_3…

I know I have not posted anything on DA in forever but now hopefully you'll understand why.

Thanks again for all the kind words and to all the amazing fans who make it possible for us to make this show!

I'll be posting a more detailed thank you soon but I just wanted to get this out there ASAP!!!

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the episodes. Korra is amazing, and I hope to someday work on something just as huge. (Of course, that'll be in about 10 years at least.)

This series rock mah socks!!! I waited so long for a continuing of the series and though at first disappointing that it wouldnt be picking up where the other left off korra is an awesome legacy to continue with. I can't wait to see more! One question that maybe you could help me with I have someone that wants to commission a tat from me of the giant lion turtle like the one in the series final episode (she wants a feminine version of it)... ive been researching for the last few days to see if i could find some reference pics maybe of the concept art or something but havent had the most luck. Any tips?

keep up the awesome work!

Hey dude, congratz on finishing the show!! Its always awesome to have finished off a project, though gotta say if its something that you just love working on, its always hard, even if the past weeks have been crunch time.

Just wanted to thank you and all the others that worked on Avatar for doing such an amazing job. Its one of the shows that inspires me to constantly improve my animation skills. :)

I don't know who else is working on this show but you AND Lesean Thomas together makes this show EPIC!! No doubt in my mind this is going to be badass. Quick question, is it JM Animation or Mir studio's working on it? or both and I'm just retarded? Sorry that was 2 questions, lol.

I think you'll really dig Korra. To answer your question it's studio MIR that is working on Korra.

It's shows like these that got me into Animation. The fight choreography alone, turned me into Foaming Mouth Guy!! I really hope I get the chance to work on a show as awesome as this one day. The work you guys do is nothing short of spectacular! :D

...now if only I could freeze myself until the show premiers.

I cannot express enough excitement for an animation as such, as it is one of the few animated storylines that I can truly admit is worthy to be deemed a "Legend"

IMVHO, they need to lose "The Last Airbender" part because it doesn't make sense (anymore). If James Cameron is going to be a prick about the "Avatar" part just call it "The Legend of Korra".

I agree... The legend of Korra makes more sense than "TLA-LOK"... but that is more corporal business thinking, I believe...

It is but as always they are failing at it. Just like they failed at the movie. The least trying to tie anything Avatar:TLA to it the better!

Well... it's always a big difference if the money guys talk or the creative ones.

I am in the ATLA fandom since end of book 2, and learned that some of the upper personnel of Nickelodeon sucks, and all of Viacom.
But also that almost all of the creative folks of Nickelodeon - also many who are of higher ranks - are awesome...

Not that I met anyone in person, but when you get to know fellow forum members better and some tell the same stories... you get my drift?

Oh I totally know. But when I mean corporate people I mean just that. They are more about money, marketing and ratings than they are about pleasing or satisfying fans (you'll never please all fans ;)) or even making sense of things because their analysts shows X works more than Y so they should go with that despite the fact they will most likely alienate more than they bring in. Believe me, I've worked in marketing/advertising for years and it doesn't matter how progressive they (think) they are it almost always comes down to money and exposure. While us creative types who do understand quite intimately what messages through certain types of media work and what don't.

It's mostly corporate that tends to fudge things up. We can do it do ourselves too, especially if we lose sight of ourselves and goals but that's usually due to inactivity due to chasing too many ideas at one time (Joe Madureria) or egotism (John Kricfalusi, Uwe Boll).

I'm not saying that keeping the nonsensical "The Last Airbender" pre-title will alienate the existing fanbase (I'm not going anywhere) but I can definitely see it repelling those who were not familiar with the TV series, only saw the movie and of course hated it, which was a lot of people from what I can see and a lot of us existing fans have had to do damage control because of it.

You are right, yes, it is a bad decision for TLOK to be named like that.

And I also agree with what you wrote about the corporate people vs the creative ones.

Like, when a certain band had quite some success, because of being unique and having found it's own way, the corporate in that music company with think "now, when we get the band to be a bit more mainstream then we will make even MOAR money" but sure that only means that the fans of old dislike the new release, and the masses thing "oh well, okay, meh, maybe I buy it or not cause there are like 10,000 other bands quite similar" and in the end they make way less money with going mainstream than keeping the band unique.

Just my 2 cents.
